Native Puerto Rican soul is always ready to represent. Since childhood Charlie has been influenced by his Latin culture. At a very young age he was introduced to the Old school Salsa by his parents. Charlie also took an interest in Dance & House music as he was captivated by the Latin instruments used in this format, like his generation he also followed the reggaeton movement. Charlie comes from a family of performers like his cousins the Torres Brothers. DAVID (formally of NICE & WILD who in the 80's had the hit DIAMOND GIRL) and DIAMOND BOY LUIS (legendary New York City radio DJ, who also performs with David and has his own solo hits).
While on vacation in Panama in the summer of 2008 Bodega Charlie thru his cousin DIAMOND BOY met Rod Carrillo the electrifying producer that has exploded on to international dance floors. Carrillo with a great eye and ear for talent saw the diamond in the rough he had just discovered and immediately called on DBL to join him in the studio and come up with a project to launch BODEGA CHARLIE into the spot light. After a few sessions and meetings of beer & chicken wings the end result was "OYE PARTY". If you’re into categories, it’s a Latin house anthem, but party really is the operative term here. Play loud and enjoy, because “Oye Party” bumps hard and has a nice hook–”Can I buy a drink?” Carrillo’s camp serves up a heaping helping of superbly-crafted sonic undulations.
